Korean Air A380 Super Jumbo Jet

Saturday, December 3, 2011 I will be flying out to Hong Kong with the J Brand Ready-to-Wear team to check on production and visit factories in China. I will be flying on the new double decker A380 Super Jumbo Jet through Korea Air. I am lucky enough to experience flying in one of the twelve Kosmo First Class Suites which are spaced out seven feet apart. The aircraft also holds three bars, all for premium passengers — the Celestial bar, a cocktail lounge at the rear of the business class upper deck, another self-service bar at the front of the business-class deck, and a bar reserved for the use of first-class passengers only. The Airbus A380 also comes with a mini duty free shop, and a Vodka lounge where you can booze, sit on the sofa, relax and watch movies. I don't think I've ever been so excited to fly 18 hours.
One of three bars on its A380, Korean Air says the Celestial Bar "features comfortable couch seating, a large screen TV, reading materials and a fully stocked, hosted bar."

Korean Air's "Duty Free Showcase" is located at the base of the spiral staircase leading up to Prestige Class. The airline says it features cosmetics, perfumes, liquor and accessories and has a dedicated cabin crew member to assist passengers. Shoppers can see and touch the actual goods, then return to their seats to make their selections in privacy.
